Description |
Jonathan Ivick (Evick) Long Rifle, full stock Flintlock Virginia Long Rifle. The rifle is signed by the maker and has incised carving characteristic of that found in the Rockingham County School. The octagon barrel is 44 inches long and is approximately 52 cal. The rifle is brass mounted with seven silver inlays and three pipes that are faceted. The toe plate is engraved and incorporates an acorn that is beautifully engraved as is the brass patch box. Made in Rockingham County, Virginia, c. 1810 - 1820. 60" length.
