Scope & Content BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE:
J. (James) Samuel Moore was born in the Spring Creek area of Rockingham County. When he was 18, his father J. H. Moore, purchased a farm near Montevideo and J. Samuel Moore inherited the farm when his father died. Mr. Moore was married to Minnie E. Moore and had five children; John Royer Moore, Earl Edward Moore, Claude Theodore Moore, Mrs. D. S. Hilbert, and Miss Mabel Clara Moore. Mr. and Mrs. Moore were members of the Brown Memorial Reform Church. (from handwritten memorial in file of J. Samuel Moore)

SCOPE AND CONTENT:
Correspondence addressed to Minnie E. Moore to settle the estate of her late husband J. Samuel Moore who died September 5, 1911. Also various correspondence relating to purchasing land and stock. Personal letter to Miss. Mable Moore.
