Dr. Jean Fennell Wine was born July 24, 1920 and graduated from Davidson College, NC in 1941. In September of the same year he entered the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond and graduated in 1944. Dr. Wine was a medical doctor in Harrisonburg and was interested in history and had a collection of Shenandoah Valley pottery.
His parents were John Eugene Wine, M.D. and Minnie Newkirk Fennell Wine of Harrisonburg, VA. Dr. John Eugene Wine was a doctor in Harrisonburg for many years and served in WW1.
