Scope & Content BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE:
The Rockingham Recorder was an official publication of the Rockingham County Historical Society. The Rockingham County Historical Society was formed on April 1, 1944 with the purpose of collecting and preserving diaries, letters, old account books, family records, tombstone inquiries, pictures, old newspapers, and other periodicals of historical biographical or genealogical interest.

The organization published The Rockingham Recorder to make available information that may be sought after by libraries, schools and colleges, historical societies, and individuals doing research work in history, biography, or genealogy.
