John H. (Jack) Gibbons was an Assistant to President Clinton for Science and Technology and Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. In these capacities, Dr. Gibbons was charged with providing access to authoritative information and expert scientific, engineering and technological advice for the President, federal officials and Congress.

Dr. Gibbons was born January 15, 1929 in Harrisonburg, VA and graduated from Randolph Macon College in 1949 and from Duke University in 1954 with a PhD in physics. He started his career as a physicist at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
