Scope & Content BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE:
Johnathan Peale was born January 9, 1797 at Peale's Crossroads and he later inherited this property. He married Ellen Catherine (Eleanor) Smith on December 2, 1829 and Margaret M. Bushnell on October 9, 1845. He died on January 20, 1874.
