SCOPE AND CONTENT:
This collection contains miscellaneous Civil War currency, Civil War currency reproductions, and Civil War Bearer Bonds.
-4 Rockingham County bills, 50 cents each (1862), (91.13.01 - 91.13.04), donated by Casey and Kathy Billhimer
-3 confederate bills, (1861, 1864), 50 cents, $50, and $100 (donated by Charles P. Blackley)
-2 confederate bills, (1862, 1863) 10 cents, 50 cents (donated by Mary Ann Grigg)
-12 Reproductions of bank notes (1862, 1863, 1864) for South Carolina, West Virginia, Louisiana, Florida, Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas , Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, Texas, (87.15.02 a-m), (donated by Aurelia Gambrill)
-60 Miscellaneous Confederate bills, (1861-1864) (85.10.06), (donated by the Harris Estate)
-Confederate bill for $1 from Rockingham County, (1861) (donated by James V. Reilly)
-Confederate bill for $20, (1864) (donated by Dorothy L. Sites)
-The County of Augusta bill, 15 cents (1862) (donated by Carolyn Slabaugh)
-2 Confederate bills, 10 cents from Rockingham County, and 3 cents from The Farmers & Miller's Depot, (donated by William G. O'Brien). These bills are enclosed in Plexiglas and mounted on a wooden stand.
