Scope & Content BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE:
Edward Booker was born in England in 1590 and was a large land owner in the colony of Virginia. He was the father of Capt. Richard Booker of Gloucester County, VA. Capt. Booker first married Rebecca Leake and his second wife was Hannah Hand. A son Edmund Booker was a member of the House of Burgesses from 1757 - 1758 and another son Edward was a member in 1736 and 1747.

SCOPE AND CONTENT:
Consists of hand painted coat-of-arms (not dated) and a handwritten transcript of the Booker family lineage (not dated) from McKenzie's "Colonial Families of the U. S.", Vol. II, page 1424. This piece was transferred from the museum collection on 5/18/2002: museum accession number was: 87.20.11.
